The story of the life of Abraham and Sarah gives us an inspiration for overcoming crisis and living in difficult moments in our lives; when there was no basis to have hope, they kept on hoping anyway, when it seemed like there was no way out, their faith did not grow weak. How could they stay strong and not lose faith in the midst of all the troubles?
Romans 4:20-21
says, "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of
God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being
fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised." Pay
attention to this fact: "Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God". The words "regarding the promise of God" tell us that when he was troubled, Abraham focused to the promises God had told him, not to the difficult situation he was in, which he could see or feel with his five senses.

Egypt in the old times told in the Bible was a politically and economically powerful country. Egypt was warned by God through a dream that there would be a long drought that would create a long period of difficulty, especially in the food and agriculture industry in Egypt.
The problem would then become a global issue, "When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world." (Genesis 41:57-58).
